• To provide and operate the Kira bill-splitting service

4. Payment Integration and Payment Data

Kira integrates with payment references for facilitating bill splits. Important clarifications:

• Kira does not hold, pool, or process funds on your behalf.
• Kira does not store your bank account numbers or financial credentials.
• Payment amounts entered into the App are used solely to calculate split amounts and generate payment references.
• All actual payment transactions are conducted directly between users through their respective banking apps. Kira is not an e-money issuer or payment processor.

5. Receipt Images

When you upload a photo of a receipt, the image is used to assist in itemising and splitting bill amounts. Receipt images may be:

• Processed on-device or on our servers for text recognition
• Temporarily stored during an active session

We do not sell or share receipt images with third parties for advertising purposes.

6. Sharing of Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data in the following limited circumstances:

• With other users in the same bill-splitting session (e.g. your display name and split amount)
• With service providers who assist us in operating the App (e.g. cloud hosting, analytics), under strict confidentiality obligations
• When required by Malaysian law, court order, or regulatory authority
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of our business assets

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the App services or as required by law. Receipt images from completed sessions are deleted within 30 days unless you have saved them within the App. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, disclosure, or loss. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
